~a little autumn moment with my great niece ada~
One word Ada knows perfectly is 'NO'which is a great lead into a NOvember unit! After bundling Ada up and surrounding her with pumpkins from our garden and large fallen leaves from our Norwegian Maple I attempted to teach her my favorite November chant~

NOvember.

No birds~~No bees~~ No leaves on trees.

NOvember. No green grass. No blue sky. No barefeet going by. NOvember.

I must admit Ada loved waving&throwing leaves the most;not the language lesson...

Autumn has arrived in greenwood

2010 autumn blessings everyone~
We had our first experience with a large garden this summer! john&i had a cherry tomato competition and I must say the tomatoes my three bushes produced- located in the 'driest' area have ended up in our garden salads many more times than johns 'huge&lush' bushes in the 'damp' area. (Goes to show dry IS best!!)

I just couldn't quite believe we could pull off 'pumpkins' not to mention that they would really turn orange (for you non-gardeners they stay green most of the summer...)Needless to say Im a little pumpkinproud and could not even wait until October to dispay healthy VERYorange pumpkins in the celebration of autumn.
